RFD insurance?

#1 Post by dromia »

I am finding it increasingly difficult to get insurance.

I can get insurance for my business but I am having difficulty getting insurance for my home because I use that as the place of my firearms business.

Any one got any recommendations as to insurers, the NFU will not insure me as they only cover rural areas.

I'm really surprised the NFU won't cover you. Have you tried Lloyds? They cover my guns for no extra cost. Those over £2500 have to be specified. And they even cover them for accidental damage, outside of the home, which will include accidents in handloading or catastrophic failure. They increased my public liability to £10m for nothing extra also.

They're not the cheapest, that I'll grant you. But so far, over the 15 years the policy has existed, their cover is comprehensive and not yet beaten.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I haven't tried Lloyds, yet.

I can get people that will insure my home and personal firearms but won't give that cover because of the business being ran from my home, off course I can get insurance if I want to pay thousands of pounds but there comes point when it is just too expensive.
