Re: New laws coming?
I hear the BSSC is supposed to be meeting with either Home Office or one of the Ministers today .

Many things might be legal..... doesn't necessarily make them sensible.Chuck wrote:
WHY? It's law abidng and legal. Workies wear combats too y'know LOL
In fact stats show in the USA that criminals will AVOID vehicles with "NRA", "GUN" (e.g. Glock) or "pro-gun" stickers, and go for the "peace" "Anti gun" and Jesus believers who they know don't generally pose a threat to them. Not that law abiding Brits with guns pose a threat to ANYONE mind you.

Thank goodness someone understands what I am saying!!!!joe wrote:
Only in the uk* could a criminal have the ordsesity to actually attempt to / or rob a gun owner without fear of getting shot !!
*except in NI
Back in the old days of pistol shooting, some people carried their handguns back and forth to a club in a shoulder holster.... or a Gladstone bag etc. they may even have taken their (unloaded) pistols into the pub on the way back home rather than risk them being stolen from a vehicle in the pub car park.
In modern times, club members (on the UK Mainland) don't have pistols that are easy to conceal.... so the criminals know full well that they are never going to be threatened by a club member with a handgun (loaded or unloaded) should they want to break into cars with BASC stickers parked outside the local pub*. Hell, the criminals don't even need guns of their own.... just balaclavas and baseball bats / machetes because who is going to stop them?
All I'm saying is that you can greatly reduce the risk by not sporting BASC stickers or other things that proclaim that you are a gun owner.....
* I am against the idea of heading to the pub after a shooting session..... that's just my personal view.

I can reply .... but I am limited as to what I can say publicly.MistAgain wrote: Chuck , that post was part of a post originally posted by HH1 earlier this week .
He also at the time posted .........."Perhaps I am being over-cautious, but we have had a fair number of club members followed home, assaulted in their driveways and guns stolen because a certain RFD wasn't careful enough with personal data. "
I replied to him ......."That is one hell of a statement , can you be more specific on the location so that we can all avoid it ? "
So far he seems unable to reply .
The situation happened earlier this year and the facts are:
One evening a person who is a RFD was at one of the gun clubs that I attend.
They left the club and drove a short distance to another address on their way home.
They parked their car and later came back to find it had been broken into.
Amongst the items taken were his RFD ledger/files with his customers names, addresses and other details (purchases).
As a result we were warned that if we had had any dealings with this particular RFD within the last 3 years or so, to start to worry.
(I believe that some members guns were taken by the Police into safe storage due to the risk of burglary / mugging).
Club members were targeted by these criminals...... people would drive home from the club unaware that masked criminals were lying in wait, ready to pounce. Club members were mugged/threatened in their driveways as soon as they started to get out of their cars to unload their guns and take them indoors.
I don't know the final number of people targeted by these criminals, but I heard it was into double figures.
One nice old guy was so badly shaken up and affected by the ordeal that he has completely given up his hobby.
Re: New laws coming?

It is all part of the illusion that our ineffectual "national" bodies try to give that they are actually making a difference against the assault on legal gun ownership in the UK when in fact they are complicit in its demise.
