What needs to be kept locked in the cabinet

Starting to get low on space in the cabinets so looking to get a larger cabinet, though before I do so, what actually needs to be locked up in the cabinet?

Sure complete firearms and shotguns, then pressure bearing components (chambered rifled barrels, bolt, receiver/action).

What about shotgun barrels? Where I'm getting confused is spare shotgun barrels, as I understand they are pressure bearing since they're proofed, but not always serialised, so for example you could have 3 sets of barrels for one shotgun. Do they all need to be locked in a cabinet or would a locked cupboard suffice with the serialised action in the cabinet?

If this is correct then does it only apply to spare barrels or to all shotgun barrels?

I've also read conflicting information on whether spare barrels are entered onto your SGC.

Please clarify.

There is no requirement to keep anything in your cabinet as long as you can securely store them .! Emphasis on securely.....if you can get a cable lock through a barrel and then lock it to something solid then that could be considered secure , although undoubtedly your firearms dept will have a view on the subject! A barrel k it's own is no great hazard which is why you are advised to remove the foreend as even a barrel and action are of little use on their own.

I believe shotgun barrels are not licensable components if S2.

If they are on your sgc then that may be an issue but s2 shotgun components aren't subject to control so I guess they don't need to be.
