Most of these type of .22 are made at a price and use cheap materials and are poor quality. Its not a .22 you will see at the ranges here, i wouldn't pay more than £300 for one.

The .22lr PPQ has a different firing mechanism to the 9mm, so unless he has experience with specifically the .22 variant then his view may well not be valid.

Lets face it we live in a place where they have to be monstrously modified just for us to be able to own them. If I lived in the USA or similar 'free' country, then I am sure I would be more choosy, but since the main other offerings over here are scale models of a .22lr 1911 made of monkey metal and brazilian revolvers, I reckon it worth a punt

With a market that measures in the tens of thousands at best do you blame them.. As a post ban shooter I am just grateful anyone is bothering which allows me to have fun with my GSG 1911..

Yes they are what they are, that's not to say they are not fun to own and shoot, i had a look and see this one here for sale.
