.357 Variation Question
Hi,
Last week I sent my FAC off to GMP with the request of adding a .357 long barrelled revolver and a .357 muzzle loading revolver.
It’s come back this morning with two slots for .357 revolvers, is this right?
My .22lbr says Long barrelled pistol, would a .357 revolver not be section 5?

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Re: .357 Variation Question
I would have applied for a .38spl/.357mag slot as well, as you'll be restricted to .357 mag.pbrazendale wrote:Hi,

This happened to one of our new members who sent his form in without getting it looked over first, and put in a slot for a .44mag rifle instead of a .44spl/.44mag slot, and he was stuck with having to buy full power .44mag ammo for his underlever instead of being able to buy .44spl and .44spl cowboy action stuff...as he didn't have .44spl on his FAC.

Re: .357 Variation Question
Strictly speaking I would have thought the variations should have read “.357 muzzle loading revolver” and “.357 long barrelled revolver”. A “section 5/humane dispatch/race starter” would be listed as a .357 revolver, but the conditions would stipulate “2 shot” etc.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: .357 Variation Question
Sim I completely agree and that’s what I requested what has come back is 2 x .357 Revolvers with no stipulations.

Yeah, it’s a typo which you’ve suspected. Call them Monday and they should reprint that immediately.
