Epoxy putty for raising height of foresight?

#1 Post by Daryll »

A question for the Fora...

I need to raise the foresight of my Taurus .357 LBR. Its always shot high, and I took the easy route of a mount and red-dot sight, but now I want to go back to basics and use the irons.
I've read that the best way is with one of the metal based epoxy puttys... build it up a bit, then file down as required.

Does anyone have experience of these puttys, and any preference to the brand??

On the "south american river" site there is the JB Weld version, or the EvoStik, both metal reinforced... are they any good..?

Any help or advice appreciated.

Daryll.

Can you still get Belzona?, used it years ago to repair a RD500LC crankcase and it set as hard as a very hard thing!.

Edit.....Yes you can

Yes, but have you seen the price Tovarich..?!?!

...and it looks like the smallest pack is 1kg... I need to add 0.1 to 0.2 inches to the top of a 2x8mm foresight.. i need maybe 1gm :D

I think I'll go with Dromia's solution... £4.19 on the 'bay

To be fair it was years ago when I used the Belzona and I blagged it from a previous employer ;-)
