Magnetospeed Sporter - Anyone got one?

#1 Post by phaedra1106 »

Mine has died after very little use, display says "BAYO SENS2 GOOD" after the initial startup sequence and doesn't record shots.

Going into the CONF menu it then says "PLUG IN BAYO"

I'm fairly sure the jack socket on the display is the problem as I've had problems with it before, moving the lead or jack plug would cause it to reset.

Has anyone else got one?, if so would you be willing to test mine with it?, try my bayonet on your controller and vice versa so at least I can be sure which part of mine is faulty?

There are no jack plugs in a ballistic pendulum.

Wipe the jack and socket with a dry cloth. The socket you need to twist the cloth/paper towel to enable to get it in to remove any micro-droplets of condensation, technique similarly employed by my mother in cleaning out my ears with a hanky when I was a kid. This might work as my daughters boing ear piece used to pack up and work once dried out.

I've already cleaned it, I was an electronics consultant back in a previous life :)

I emailed Magnetospeed so if it has to go back I'd prefer to know which part to send!.

I've got a MagnetoSpeed sporters but have not had this problem. Does your display turn on without the lead plugged in, or does that display show then it is plugged in? It's not supposed to turn on unless something is plugged into it so really, that message is redundant.

If you still want to mail it to me to try, feel free to send me a pm if you want to go down that route, but obviously if there's someone closer to home who can do this in person then it makes sense to use them!

Yes, it only turns on with the lead in, it goes through the normal start-up routine but won't record shots and gives the error messages above, I think it's the jack socket connection given the previous problems with it, the bayonet is pretty indestructible and it's never been hit or dropped.

If there's nobody closer I'll PM you so thanks for the offer :)
