Having tried to read this and had my brain turned to cheese, has anyone a summary?

As far as I can seen issues at the moment are;
  • banning of MARS/LR rifles

    banning of HME/50Cal

restrictions on under 18s using Air guns

moving sec2 ammo to sec 1 (and hense secure storage, on ticket), don't know what that means for sec2 holders, can they no longer possess or purchase ammuntion for their shotguns without getting a sec1 FAC?

    banning reloading,
What have I missed or missunderstood?

god, that was a hard read!

among other things, what does it matter if you are racist or right wing, why does that stop you from owning firearms?[/quote]

Cate Tuitt came 3rd in the 2017 general election for Richmond Park .

She was short listed as a candidate for Chingford & Wood Green but was defeated by a candidate who had only been a Labour Party member for 12 months . The winner got 163 votes , Cate got 4 !.

She also stood on the candidates short list for Croydon and Sutton in the London elections when the local free sheet said she was part of a particularly uninspiring bunch.

She claims to be a Temple Inns of Court Member , what Temple and what level of membership , we can only guess.

Considering all the qualifications that she claims to have , post graduate Law, Forensic Sci Dip. ,Will expert advisor & Equity & Trusts , Graduate Diploma Anatomy, Pathology & Physiology ,Consultation on public policy , her submission on the Offensive Weapons Bill would appear to be badly put together and badly worded .

The problem is , that as she has signed off with her qualifications , her submission will be given more credibility than it deserves , especially as she is active in BEM circles .

Just added last week, Clause NC29, ALL deactivated firearms to be re-deactivated and re-certified to the very latest EU spec even though this is in direct contradiction of the EU Deactivation Regulations stating that legacy deactivated firearms are fine as they are.
Estimated to be approx 400,000 out there, wtf are they on !!

Beat me to it, her Linkedin profile has a strong whiff of Dunning-Kruger effect about it. As for her submission and how it is structured almost as a list of points it looks suspiciously like a regurgitation of something that Mark Groothuis FEO and NABIS lobbyist would dream up! Things like banning .22 semi auto and semi auto shotguns are on Mark Groothuis wish list so I wonder how much prompting went into this, considering the submission talked about things that I doubt Cate Tuitt would have any clue about.

Actually the most barmy thing on the list was the request to ban the 50 calibre shooters association, considering they have broken no laws and are in effect a private club that would be a huge violation of basic civil liberties! Even if 50. bmg is banned there is nothing in the law that states they can't continue as a club.

Also, no decent University would accept her submission with such poor punctuation, grammar, sentence structure and clear cut and paste from other sources without any form of citation.

Her Linkedin profile sets off my Spidey senses as well! For someone with so many different places she has studied and worked at she only has one recommendation.

This is what happens when I speed read ....................I miss things .

On one of her web pages she claims .............TEMPLE INNS OF COURT MEMBER . Now anyone seeing that would think she is a heavyweight legal type person and not someone you could confront .

But read her Linkedin profile slowly .............. Member of the honourable society of the Inner temple London legal walk team .

Tower Hamlets Law Centre entered a team of walkers in a charity walk for the past few years organised by the Inner Temple . Maybe she even did the walk herself . Or maybe not .

I wonder what other little porkies are out there .

Apart from the obvious .50 cal and MARS related bits, the thing that could affect many more shooters is reloading.....has anyone seen any clarification on reloading..?? exceptions for FAC holders..??

It doesn't take long for the porkies to unravel as this chap found out.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews ... -quit.html
And by all accounts he was actually a pretty decent lawyer - he just embellished here and there.
A Milanese girlfriend from my distant past used to say "I'm not lying - I'm just making the truth sound better."
"I don't like my job and I don't think I'm gonna go anymore."

The more I look at her Linkedin profile the more I realise this Cate Tuitt is an utter joke with a rather embellished profile!

It has absolutely no substance, lots of organisations or groups she is a member or supporter of yet no detail of what she was actually doing. She appears to be a member of the Board for all sorts of organisations, but they are all various community groups that allow you to call yourself a board member if you turn up to enough meetings! Much of what is written in her experience section is a cut and paste from various organisations web description with no evidence of what her participation was and you will note that she never sticks to anything for long.

What is written in her own hand is oddly poorly structured (and spelled in some cases) for someone who is meant to be an expert in Contract drafting and Will writing. For example this, I would think a position as "Executive Director" for an organisation with a £10million budget would be worthy of much more information yet all we get is this:
CHIEF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (LOCUM)
Company NameWESTMINSTER WOMENS AID
Dates EmployedJan 1997 – Jan 1999 Employment Duration2 yrs 1 mo
LocationWESTMINSTER
Direct and Manage the four women's refuges. Leadership for the staff team. Supervise and delegate work program, write business Strategy. Liase with statutory bodies like the police, social services and local housing council providers. Direct the staff in the delivery of the budget and control of the 10 million pounds budget.
Provide shelter and triage for women and children escaping domestic violence, hate crimes, sexual violence. Written reports to the board of trustees. Policy formulation.
Now consider that she graduated in 1996 from Guildhall University albeit she doesn't reveal at what level and I can't find find out myself that is an odd jump in responsibility. Actually reading between the lines you will note she was a legal Clerk in 1993 and ten years later an intern for a short time...hmmm.

Funnily enough in 2007 amongst the many courses she takes this pops up:
Darnley academy . Alva Scotland.
Degree NameCrime preservation. Soil samples. Gun residue. Fingerprinting. DNA. Field Of StudyForensic science
Dates attended or expected graduation 2007 – 2008

Activities and Societies: History society
Forensic Science
Ah a Forensics course and the word Degree is there, that sounds more legit...except on a bit of Googling you will find Darnley Academy is actually a distance learning organisation that allows people to sign up for basic web based training courses and certainly not a degree level provider of forensics training!

She spent four years as a Labour Councillor in Safer than safe Red Tower Hamlets yet loses it to the Greens with a Labour leaning web page stating she caused controversy within her local party group:

http://eastlondonnews.co.uk/whos-big-en ... gss-boots/

So what kind of picture are we getting then, a nobody pretending to be far more influential than she really is probably keeping an eye out for Public Consultations where she can p**f up her own self worth by submitting cut and paste responses with a "I'm an expert believe me" wrapping!

Pitiful!

Finally for those curious this is the great legal mind and according to her profile Public Speaker Kate Tuitt publicly speaking...hardly profound stuff to be honest:
