I popped down this morning, was nice to chat to those in the industry and handle some new shiny or rather black items.
NWCP 9mm was nice along with their .22’s.
Rumours of next year being in Bath and West show ground area, bit further north by 1.5 hours. But with all shows this was the only venue that had space at to hold it. Most exhibitions are booking the same slots / weekends for years in advance.

Re: Practical shooting show.
I don't understand all the people complaining about where it is. I don't moan about the fact the northern shooting show is hours and hours drive from me, or that the British shooting show is where it is, or any show at Bisley. They are where they are. Suggesting it is moved to X location is is just moving it nearer to the suggester and further from others,

Re: Practical shooting show.
I get that people in the South West will naturally feel happy that it was held there - and I would imagine they haven’t always been particularly well served with shows, RFDs etc - but surely from a practical (pardon the pun) and commercial point of view it would most likely be better located elsewhere. Given that exhibitors and visitors are probably going to be located in and around the major population centres, it feels like the organisers are excluding a big chunk of the country.bradaz11 wrote: Suggesting it is moved to X location is is just moving it nearer to the suggester and further from others,
Visually it’s even clearer, as per my attached high quality diagram...

The NORTHERN shooting show is a bit of a give away and you don't see anything there which isn't at any of the other shooting shows which are spattered around the country and usually in the south (just not the extreme south like this).
The practical show is (hopefully) a unique event and would, IMO be better served by a more central location. Or in the Newcastle Metro arena, whatever

doubt they will please everybody.
Be interesting to see the spread of shooters across the Uk tho.
from a business point of view it would make sense for northern Gun dealers to come to the southern shows to expand their customer base.
and vice versa of course.

Of course - but being so far South means many won’t bother. It’s a 12hr round trip from, say, Newcastle to Exeter which only the very, very committed will make.Gh0st wrote:from a business point of view it would make sense for northern Gun dealers to come to the southern shows to expand their customer base.
If there has to be a Northern and Southern, the best* places would be somewhere like Milton Keynes and Sheffield. If there has to be one for the whole country, Birmingham is best*
*(Best here being travel time for the bulk of the population, proximity to major roads etc. Not best in absolute terms...
