There are, of course, very few exceptions to this. Some people who do all of the above and find time to make posts online, but they are definitely in the minority than the majority.
Did you just quote your own post? :o

The problem I see with anyone doing the youtube thing is that the media will only take small parts and quote segments out of context and distort what is being said or done to further their own agenda.

As you say above, the best way to promote shooting is to educate by doing; run ranges, offer courses, open up clubs for guest days, promote understanding with experience days, let the uneducated (within the context of shooting sports that is) see that it is not a place for the budding macho Rambo but a sport that can be safely enjoyed by nearly everyone and that breaks down the barriers of gender, age and physical ability.
Is quoting ones own post like Googling Google? Will I break the internet?

only did it because I couldn't edit the post and found it worth noting that I'm not tarring everyone with the same brush, there are those in the sport who manage to run successful ranges, bring people into shooting and manage to find time to film content for social media.

The best way to do that would be to have it broadcast during the Olympics and Commonwealth games! Especially ones in England.... Oh wait.....

All joking aside. Yes maybe he is annoying and may be even dangerous to the sport. But there are very few people promoting and giving information on the sport in that capacity. So if people really want to shut him up then they need to give people an alternative to watching him. There are plenty of people in this thread along that have criticised what he does very heavily. Perhaps one of them could start a channel giving better information and more balanced / less dangerous view points? Until people have an alternative they won't stop watching his videos.....
we have our own channel, I have no intention of becoming a CLC of any kind but do our bit for the promotion of shooting sports

He needs to wind his neck in and stay out of things but his ego says otherwise, his comments about access to Hand Guns in NI are tone death to the highest degree. The Antis must love him!
There are few ranges here would let him or anyone else film their range, i am surprised NITSA did.
We wouldnt let him I'm afraid, our terms and conditions state that if you have any reason why any authority deem you unfit to hold a firearms licence or if you have had a firearms licence removed for any reason then you are unable to shoot. NI would have different rules I guess.

There is the law and there are club rules, if the club is complaint with the law i am sure they can add their own conditions.
NITSA. Guests at the Range

All guests to the range are strictly by appointment only. The Club Secretary must be notified prior to any visit via the club telephone - 07525 206310 or Contact Us.
Guests to the range must not be restricted from possessing firearms as specified by article 63 of the firearms (Northern Ireland) order 2004 Click Here
All guests must produce ID: firearms certificate, driving licence or passport are acceptable. This rule will be strictly enforced.
