Indeed there is no place for sloppy record keeping - but I think there is an element of pressure from above and the police wanting to be seen to be doing something to tackle gun crime. Rifle clubs are an easy target and will get no sympathy from the general public.

Still no excuse for not following the rules and guidelines 101%

Criminals involved in gun and drugs offences sentenced to more than 300 years in prison

Some of the firearms sound like items which could have been stolen from legitimate certificate owners.

“Some” “like””could”, nothing like trying to sensationalise a story in which no such links/suggestions were made.

There is absolutely no correlation between my sport and gun ownership and their crimes. Just as Lewis Hamilton didn’t give a flying f..k when my Mrs got a speeding ticket, why should I give anything that these scroates were weighed off?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

The time to put this thread to bed is when all questions have been answered .

That isn't going to happen as well you know and continually banging on about it on this forum won't make a hoot of difference. Move on for goodness sake!

When we keep getting posts like 'we know something you don't know', then this will run for 500 pages. 8-)

Stories like these are there to seed uncertainty and doubt into the general gun fearing public. As gun owners we would be remiss to ignore them. The slow drip of this type of news is what will do us in the long run.

Lets look at it this way .............

There must be things than nobody knows .

There must be things that other posters on here know , that I dont know .

And its possible that I may know things that other posters on here dont know .

The important thing is that we dont discuss these things here at least untill all the legal stuff has been done .
