Warning from Police

#1 Post by Andy632 »

Just got this from Police Scotland. Not surprising though.

South Yorkshire Police reported 50 firearms stolen from a gun dealership premises which was closed due to Covid -19.
It is probable that SAOC groups and other criminals will carry out pre-planned break ins to premises, where there is less opportunity of interruption and detection during the raids as a result of lock-down.

There is no intelligence to suggest that this is would be an issue in Scotland.

I was at a company "town hall" meeting and one of the guys stood up and said he thought the company were using to many TLA's; the company man immediately asked, "what's a TLA?"

"Three letter Acronym" was the reply, "do you see where I'm coming from!" Great burst of laughter and he put out a worldwide memo to ask employees to resist using acronyms in general communications.

Seems like cops maybe need to adopt the same when they send out memos to the public.

Criminals do not seem to worry about "essential travel".....or lockdown...every empty club premises containing firearms is a sitting duck...regular visits by members to check security not apparently "essential"...so I am informed.

I wonder why they don't think it will happen in Scotland! Lack of Police intelligence!

Surely clubs which store guns/RFDs need remote alarm systems, if not remote cameras?

The one broken into and linked above almost certainly did have - how else might the police have been called at 00:50?

The police will only attend a "confirmed" break-in or one they are advised requires attendance in a call from a monitoring company or their own records.
