Are people really envisaging them being THAT specific and/or having a list of sports to go down?? Is it not more likely it'll be a case of "An activity that doesn't involve/require you to have physical contact with another person" etc?

As soon as the 'good reason' to travel is relaxed then it will be up to individual venues to ensure they're 'safe' as far as i'm concerned, when it comes to shooting anyway.

Where does or will pigeon shooting sit? For a lot of farmers it is "pest control" and is carried out by people who consider it their hobby or sport.

If the farmer were to pay the shooter, and the shooter were to rent the field(s) where he shoots (like the way that civil engineering companies charge the Highways Agency to mend motorways but have to rent the stretches from them), then it would become a job which you couldn't do from home.

Latest information on the government web pages seems to have taken a bit of a u turn on previous statements that have been issued sources now say that any revisions made to the lockdown will be "Very limited"
I fear the worst but hope for the best, looks like it will be some time yet before shooting recommences.
May have to get a air rifle and BB pistol and set up a 50metre and 10metre range in the garden.

That would be great if it is in the first wave, especially as it would also allow me to start diving again too (although probably just at quarries and shore diving as boat diving would put people too close together).

Chance would be a fine thing, but there are limits to what is economically viable.

As I understand it, if a farmer asked you to attend and shoot pigeons for crop protection then that is classed as essential as it’s protecting food chain but obviously it would be for individuals and not a group of mates
A friends son was asked to shoot the pigeons on a farm, he called the firearms department (Warwickshire)and they said that was ok but stalking of deer was not
