Renewals and Covid 19

Sent my application to west midlands police for conterminous Grant in by special delivery and it was signed for by "COVID 19" today so they are obviously implementing some for of controls.

We were discussing this at my club last week they may implement some form of remote interviewing via skype or something

Nothing is being signed for by the recipient at the moment. It's the postman who signs COVID 19.

Credit where it's due - the Met was excellent in processing my renewal in time despite the difficult circumstances.



Now if only the RFD I told I'd buy that .308 off could open and I could buy it and find a range to shoot it on...

Suffolk Firearms

My renewal is due early July. Are there any of you out there in Suffolk in the process of renewal and how is it going?

My Suffolk issued FAC and SGC expire in early May.

Submitted renewal paperwork last week in February, and had a FEO visit early March. Not had any follow up communication yet, but am entitled to the eight week certificate extension in any case as I completed my renewal application within the statutory time.

Just had a letter from Suffolk this morning stating it will not be possible to decide my application by the certificate expiry date, and my certificate’s validity will be extended by eight weeks.

First time ever that has happened to me.

New certificates received today, with all variations and ammunition holding increases agreed.

FAC and SGC arrived today a week ahead of schedule and that was even with a couple of hiccups during the renewal process. Got everything I requested, as well as increasing my 22LR max by 500rds - which I didn't ask for!
