Royal Mail or PF are your two options, there are a couple more however they are not going to apply to you.

Royal mail allow firearms for sporting use and antiques.
Royal Mail wrote: UK - Allowed in the mail, see restrictions and packaging guidelines below:
Guns intended for sporting purposes - including Section 1 (e.g. hunting rifles) and Section 2 (e.g. shotguns) firearms, low-powered air weapons and their component parts - may be sent in compliance with UK law and subject to domestic controls on the possession of firearms. Antiques, deactivated and imitation firearms are also permitted. When sending deactivated firearms include proof of deactivation.

This shows a real oddity where one part of a company does not know what another is doing:
Royal Mail Group owns both Post Office and Parcel Force and they share facilities ... Post Office will carry guns, however PF will only do it for contract custoers with a long list of requirements to meet including using a premium service.

A potential issue with RM when shipping a firearm through them is they may use PF, who may in turn ship the firearm on a 48 hour service which they are not allowed to do. We us both Parcelforce and Royal Mail for such work if not daily them weekly without issues. I will add that we have our own insurance in the event of a lost item.

Not allowed? By whom? or just one of their own petty rules?Ovenpaa wrote:A potential issue with RM when shipping a firearm through them is they may use PF, who may in turn ship the firearm on a 48 hour service which they are not allowed to do. If one did get lost, who would the police go after? The shipper or PF?

Rules, no idea. Christel would be better placed to answer that question. My experience has only been with the loss of barrels and neither the Police nor PF seemed particularly concerned.
