Moving house
Hi All
As I am now getting towards the age where I'll have to retire, my better half has been looking at houses "nearer to her mother", and so I suppose I'd better plan ahead and ask everyone on here:
If I live in Stamford, South Lincolnshire, is there a good club for full-bore shooting nearby? My definition of "nearby" is up to an hour's drive.
TIA
Steve

Re: Moving house
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Or Grove which gets you access to Barton Road and Thetford ranges if you fancy long distance plinking.

Without trying to be rude, but how old is the MiL then...!steve853 wrote:Hi All

Would it not be easier to move the MiL nearer to you for the shorter time she has left....?
Its usually the more practical option given the relative duration of time left, without wishing to be too brutal about it.

I’m already in Lincolnshire, just the far north! Also a member of NCB and former member of Hemswell. My in-laws Live in St Albans, which is where my wife is from, and women in her family tend to live to 100-odd. MiL will probably out-live me!Christel wrote:Any chance to move to Lincolnshire - take it

Mil is in her middle 70’s, and is more active than me, she wouldn’t leave her enormous circle of friends.GeeRam wrote:Without trying to be rude, but how old is the MiL then...!steve853 wrote:Hi All

I won’t tell her you mentioned that, as she would track you down...

I thought you said you were looking at South Lincs...which is still a long way from South Herts?
I'm confused...
Oh, and I thought my Mum would live into her 90's as her Mum, her Mum's sisters, and her Grandmother all lived well into their 90's........
Sadly she didn't and only just made it into her 80's (and her 3 siblings all made it into the 90's as the rest had)

Re: Moving house
That’s because it is confusing! We’re currently 3 hours away by car, wifey would like to be able to get there in an hour and a bit. So we’re looking at the area from Stamford across to March. Somewhere with reasonable house prices.GeeRam wrote:St.Albans.....?steve853 wrote:I’m already in Lincolnshire, just the far north! Also a member of NCB and former member of Hemswell.
