NRA Range advice.. today

The FB page had mention of someone using HME on a non-HME approved Range - another possible reason which would make sense.
Who knows for sure...??

No one approves ranges any more except the Range Operator (or MoD for military ranges).

Could it also be that the NRA @ Bisley especially are worried that, following an extended closure due to the Covid outbreak, that shooters who would previously have used the range(s) are now semi-self sufficient and not likely to return as (HIGH) paying customers??
Certainly as with most other businesses where the public are paying customers, the NRA will have lost a lot of income this last 6 months or so.

The possibility of losing out to impromptu private ranges setting up here and there, either legally or just personally on land where say vermin shooting has been given, could/would damage their income stream more AND potentially make the 'hurt' last for much longer for that institution on Bisley ranges and other commercial interests etc....

Just a thought but has the NRA really been badly affected by reduced income since the shutdown?????
I'm thinking that some of the staff would have been furloughed so less outgoings on wages. Affiliation fees from clubs and membership fees will still have come in presumably as should rents from tenants. So overall perhaps there has been less turnover but a pretty neutral situation financially I wonder?

I think you're reading far more into this than it warrants............
However, if my choice was either paying to use a range at Bisley, or someones' field for free, it'd still be Bisley...........

I've had five midweek shoots there since they re-opened, and I'd say they were busier than they were prior to lockdown.
The current system works pretty well, although there are quite a few shooters a bit flummoxed by the Android tablets and electronic targets..........they'll get used to them.

I think I am correct in saying that only one member of staff worked throughout the shutdown and without being furloughed.

Sorry, Iain, I meant "or not from home" but I may even have it wrong, this was something I heard over the weekend. This certainly wasn't meant as a put down.

The staff have done a great job getting the place open and fixing the distancing issues and the grounds look great, many have obviously been working hard while the rest of us sat at home. I know you have been working hard from home as well as I've had cause to bother you on the phone once or twice (and I think I'll be bothering you again soon - I apologise in advance ).
