I thought the same and it’s this attitude that makes this forum a less friendly and inviting place for newer members to get involved with.

Hold on a minute, you are judging the entire forum on one reply?

Not at all, there just seems to be one or two individuals who are less than supportive and rather quick to judge or jump down someone’s throat which can be off putting

Personally, I would rather people replied with a meaningful answer as things do change. A good example being reloading, an answer from 10 years ago may be far from relevant these days.

Such a shame that whilst most of the shooting community are lovely helpful people the remainder just want to keep out the new people and have the sport die when they do.

We are a new club of young shooters who left our old club because people there were more interested in being condescending to make themselves feel superior than just being helpful or not saying anything at all. We have a lot of firearms knowledge and experience but that doesn't mean we automatically know all the confusing laws and regulations. I posted this question as a favour to our secretary as they have read:

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... Final_.pdf

and googled it as well but there isn't 100% clarity on whether members without an FAC can use other shooters firearms whilst at Bisley before we recieve home office approval. I can call Iain at the NRA for clarification but thought it would be easier to message here than bother him.

You must have Home Office Approval before you can share firearms I'm afraid. There are other rules that can apply but will only serve to muddy it more.

Unless all your members are all individual members of the NRA? Arguably then they can share amongst them as members of the NRA as an HO Approved club.

And no actual help with answering the original "simple to answer" question. ;)

My FEO told me in my interview that you can't share firearms anyway, even at a HOA club. I was very surprised by this to be honest and have since been told by many that its not true. She wasn't the type of FEO who made up their own rules either. She seemed very fair in most things which leads me to believe it was a genuine misunderstanding. If an FEO can misunderstand the rules on it then can't really blame someone for asking here for clarification!
