Not really a loaded question, I am just curious... So, have you ever seen a No32 Mk1 or indeed a Mk2 or 3 on anything other than a No4(T) or an L42? I am interested in both civilian and military applications, even a one off on an old .22 rim-fire will be of interest.
I am sure they were not always silly money and people must have used surplus examples on other rifles.
Anyone?

I've never seen one myself other than on a L42 or a No4(T) but I have seen photographs of them mounted on a Bren gun which I understand was the original intention for this scope.

Many many years ago saw one grafted onto a p14 , decent job of attachment but not over the bore . This was at Altcar range and shooting at the longest range , he was doing quite well with it.

Found it and it maybe the same one you saw, as I think the guy is maybe from UK and Sheffield area?
Although, it looks like his one is not an offset scope and is mounted on a 4T style bracket.
This is what he posted about it:
They also made drawings for usage of the No. 32 scope on the P.14 rifle in May 1940. They never produced them, but fortunately the drawings survived. And I went through the hassle to make myself one of these mounts, based on the drawings. Looks like this complete.
Although, it looks like his one is not an offset scope and is mounted on a 4T style bracket.

It might be that one , I distinctly remember that it was a little offset to the left , the bloke said he zeroed a little off to compensate , still found the bull at 1000yds !

Geeram, that is perfect, I have a trick P14 and now the No32 Mk1 so putting the two together makes perfect sense. Do you have a reference for the original article of images please? PM is fine as the last time I did this I all but received death threats for such a heinous crime to a P14 :)

Yes on a sporterised P14......well not exactly a No32 Mk1 scope but a No42 Mk1 scope, same tube size, on Parker Hale mounts.

The drawings are here for the No3 rifle mk1. I cannot reproduce the full and dimensioned version however this is OK apparently. So a No32 on a P14 does seem viable now I have all of the dimensions. I was told it was secret hush hush however it is not that secret as the high res images are available for a fiver from the Royal Armouries.
