You may not have experienced it however at every new renewal around here we are told to lie low.Pete wrote:Where are we told this?..........my neighbours all know I shoot, and have done since I started, two of them even giving references for my FAC. A couple of them even attended Bisley open days with me, back in the day...

Re: Guntrader leak
Exactly. My FEO interview included this. Even included about not posting stuff on Facebook etc. I'm sure my neighbours have seen us loading the car with "interesting" looking cases. My smallbore case has "Walther" plastered down the side so it doesnt take a genius to work it out. But never the less, I keep my head down most of the time in line with what my FEO suggested.Christel wrote:You may not have experienced it however at every new renewal around here we are told to lie low.Pete wrote:Where are we told this?..........my neighbours all know I shoot, and have done since I started, two of them even giving references for my FAC. Someone who lives a few doors up from me runs a pest control business. Saw him leaving the house once with a gun slip over his shoulder. My 5 year old shouted "You're going shooting like us!"Polchraine wrote:Same here, and one neighbour who also happens to be a Twitcher and Lord Xxxxx of Yyyyy has commented "off shooting again I see" - he is also pro-shooting.Pippin89 wrote: ... Re: Guntrader leak
I load and unload my kit into the car out of sight of the street.
Only one of my neighbours knows that I keep firearms in the house, he is ex-military and was one of my referees at my last renewal.
The fact that no one else in the street knows I keep firearms at home, is an integral part of my security.

A few in my street know and I know about them too. Just rather hard to avoid it when you meet at a gunshop's stand at the Game Fair!ukrifleman wrote:I load and unload my kit into the car out of sight of the street.

Re: Guntrader leak
Funny enough, I just had an ad on my Facebook feed come up:
"Have you had your data compromised in the Guntrader data breech? Fill in our online form now" CEL Solicitors
Does Facebook know I have a rifle now or am I being paranoid?

Here you go. Anyone up for it?Blackstuff wrote:I seriously doubt it but it will be interesting to see if the is any action taken under GDPR or similar (which can include significant fines).

More likely, the Facebook marketing algorithm has targeted people who are members of gun related groups etc.
Re: Guntrader leak
I had literally never had my mobile intercept spam text messages before. Post GT leak I'm getting spam texts every other day now.
