Mobile Version

#1 Post by Polchraine »

Now that everything is stable and the migration sorted, can I put in an "upgrade" request, please.

Have you considered implementing phpBB Mobile ? http://phpbb-mobile.com/ It would be quite useful for those who use smartphones and similar to access the site.

I have been watching this project for a while and was waiting for the official release as I am always sceptical about RC's.

I will have a closer look ;)

I am getting a "Request blocked" when I try to DL it...

However they have a copy on the forum but I think it is still too buggy at the moment.

But it means another app as well as a browser on the phone. Plus, it does not work on all smartphones.

Taptalk costs, what advantage does it bring to accessing a forum on your phone?

Its free?? (well I didnt pay for mine and it is the full version on Android) - Makes the forum easier to view and navigate on a smartphone. Handles PMs, mark forums read, read un read posts etc etc

Mike

**edit just seen it is now a pay service - Ive had it for ages, must have been free at some point - I don't pay for apps.

"An application" is a forum app on the boing, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry. "An application" Forum App provides super fast on-the-go forum access to majority of the discussion forums that has activated the "An application" plugin.

But it does not work on ALL 'phones ... and needs to run in parallel to a browser.

And it still requires the full page to be downloaded rather than a mobile version which cuts out a lot or superfluous data.
