My expectations of the NRA on the other hand are not high.

And I get sick of people slagging off the NRA!

We have had this discussion before but in case anyone new didn't see it the NRA were first to react with the Derek Bird incident due to a certain Search and Rescue pilot who was on shift in the area phoning in the news as it happened. All the governing bodies agreed to let BASC take the lead on it so they were speaking with one voice.

I'm sure BASC do a wonderful job but so do many of us here at the NRA and this generalised NRA bashing doesn't do much for my morale

I am with you on this Karen, we have both NRA and BASC members on the forum and the one thing we should all have in common is a passion for shooting, I am not saying one is better than the other, I am a target shooter and live 75 miles from Bisley so I chose the NRA, equally if I was a hunter I would probably look to BASC.

What I do want to see is support for a shared goal which is the ability to shoot as and when we want and these are the two main organisations representing us.

I'm a supporter of the NRA ... and that's from four hours drive away from Bisley.

Our 75 miles took nearly 5 hours one Friday evening! These days I aim to leave home at 05:45 on a week day which gives a 90 minute drive. Then grab a pinged bacon sarnie at the bakers and head off to the range office, at least parking at the NSC is never a problem.
