well I've just rang the office, the very nice and helpfull young lady explained they are just processing the first week in January's renewals sign01 sign01

Which doesnt bode well for me getting my 284 anytime soon

However she has said she'll send me a temp cert tp keep me legal and I can use to at least sell my AR :shakeshout:

not to rain on your parade....but I just went in to TVP HQ today to sort out a lack of .223 ammo on my cert (just bought a .223 rifle so D'oh!) the nice lady there got me a gleaming new cert all up to date, with new rifle and ammo added, all done in 15 mins !

It seems that if they do make a mistake they can usually sort it out very quickly. Bnz and I did our renewal with the added complication of having all our rifles on each other certificates. We went and picked them up, got home and they had left a .223 off. Quick phone call, return to Chelmsford HQ and the corrected certificate was waiting for us. About an hour in total.

I think the logic here is that the actual production is a 1-minute job with a printer loaded with fancy paper, so if all you need is correction of an error (and by implication what you actually asked for has been approved) they can do it without reference to anyone. The checking and authorisation is what takes the time, not the pressing print and putting it in the post.
