Looking for a F-Class rifle

Which BiPod was it? I know Osprey were doing the older Sinclair F-Class then the Spanish Big-Foot ones.

I picked up one of the new Sinclair F-Class micro-adjustable ones when I was in the US a couple of weeks ago, so far only tried it at home as our first range date got cancelled but it's certainly an excellent fit and easily adjustable with solid locking. I had looked at the Dolphin version but what swung it for me was the captive pin for sling-swivel mounting (didn't fancy loosing a pin) and the micro-height adjuster.

Next range date is on the 18th so I'll give it a good try out then.

I had a good look at it Vince, it is incredibly well made and robust and the mariner wheel adjustment is a great touch. The chap that does the CNC work for Stuart is very good and his range of new products impressive. I did ask what it weighed but forget what Stuart said.

Next door was the Dolphin offering, a more conventional type of bipod and priced at GBP100 less which is understandable given the less involved nature of the design. Again Mik's bipod was very well finished.

Both the Osprey and Dolphin bipods are variations of a well established theme and both are loosely based on existing devices and this is the problem... All said and done a bipod is a bipod, it attaches to the rifle and contacts the ground in two places. Joining up those dots in a different manner yet be robust, retain stability, ease of adjustment and keep weight to a minimum all at a sensible cost is never going to be easy.

The bipods I build do have some different features to enhance tracking and ease of adjustment but at the end of the day they still have to join up the three dots. Time to think outside the box on this. Christel came up with a novel suggestion a while ago which could change out whole out look on the use of bipods, it sits on the bench right now, 90% finished and I hope to get it ready for testing over the next couple of weeks.

Shooting this Sunday at Bisley! First thing is of to the zero range to get the Tikka sorted then 500 and 600 in the afternoon at Centry! Can't wait to get back into it! If anyone's going down there let me know and I'll come over to say a quick HELLO!!

What a b******d it can be zeroing!!

Shot the Musgrave all day, and didn't score to badly either! So went down the zero range at Bisley and was surprised at how short it was! Also very LOUD! After about 20 rounds with the Tikka we started getting on target, so windage is now sorted then the siren went of at 4:30 and didn't get the elevation sorted.

There's always next time and more ammo to buy!

Hi all

First test for the Tikka T3 tomorrow. Down to Bisley for a days shooting, firstly going to zero range to finish zeroing then straight onto 300 yards in the morning. Afternoon is 500 yards so hopefully should be shooting all day with it! Will take the Musgrave just in case something happens but really looking forward to a proper shoot with it!!

What ammunition are you putting through the Tikka?

S&B at the mo which is 145g but will be trying HPS and RUAG 155g for longer distance!
I think the 145g is ok out to 600yds! We will see how I get on tomorrow.?!

HPS and RUAG are both capable of very good results out to 1000 yards and more.

Good day today.

Went to zero the Tikka and had to wait it was so busy. Took about 6 rounds to get it zeroed at 300yds then went straight up to Century for 300yds! Shot very low so had to bring it up a bit and there on it was spot on.
600 yds in afternoon I put 12moa on the scope and worked really well even with some super cheap ammo at 33p each!!
So today was a real learning curve for me and have learnt a lot today. Really like the rifle and to improve it so more will be David's Bipod when I go in a couple of weeks. Roll on two weeks again!!!
