That's now twice in two days that I've read on here that two clubs I used to shoot with 20+ years ago are still going! Tyne Valley and the Mayfair Shooting Centre on another thread.

Is it now time to leave the South East and head back home.....? bigteeth
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

You're paying for a service you're clearly not getting. Don't let it continue: make it clear exactly what roles you and the police play in the master : servant relationship. Employer : employee if you prefer. My own force, Warwickshire, can turn round a variation in 4 days and actually do know one end of a gun from the other without needing to resort to a panel of experts. It's a basic level of competency that should be available everywhere.

The Tyne Valley club are not the club that used to shoot at Heddon on The Wall, it's an off-shoot of the Mayfair club.

Ian, I can't understand why they're still buggering you about, .204 is a perfectly valid calibre for what you want to use it for. I'd get back onto the CA and ask then to ring Durham to find out exactly what it is about the .204 that's causing them a problem.

I can't believe they're grumpy about a 204 when the land is cleared for 223! Madness, but that's fairly normal :(
