Some nice shooting there.

That sure is a sweet set up. 8-)

It's a pity someone doesn't make a drop-in lever release kit for the Steyr.

If that was possible to do, then :shakeshout:

Sim G it is not the cost but how much fun you get out of something.
I don't think any firearm I own or have owned was right for me out of the box. The issues which were mag related, so caused by Glock not Bob (Gen 4 glock mags have been causing issues with glock pistols as well). I now also have a better understanding of the working of the rifle so will be able to get the best out of it in the future
I have attached a couple of pics of my 9mm. I think any of you who have been to the SGC web site have seen it pre annodizing as the serial number is the same as the picture they use.

Oh very nice indeed :goodjob: No problems with cheek weld when shooting with the case catcher in place?

Case catcher I shot practical pistol you just man up and take the brass or move along the point.
seriously I have just received a mesh one from the states today so will give it ago. I use low profile ladder type rail covers that do not make grip bigger but are nice on my soft hands. Best to get them from hong Kong airsoft suppliers as they are dirt cheep.

I think he was referring to the post above featuring a massive brass catcher

It actually improves it a little bit for me as the ACOG sits so high on the rail that i can only get a chin weld, not much of an issue when standing or sitting, but i don't like it much when prone.

I finally got mine on the range today and by chance fired it at 200 yards first.

Got on the black in 3 shots and was consistently keeping them there.

That is the good news:

The Bad news is that I am following in others footsteps.

2nd round failed to load as previously described. I resumed after lunch on Melville and found that the thing just would not feed consistently. Out of 100 rounds I now have 16 that are scraped, being damaged and noticeably shorter than non fired rounds.

I cleaned it before going, cleaned it between shots and cleaned it some more. I noticed that the loading / feed ramp on the lower assembly does not appear to be getting used ie there are no visible marks from rounds touching it in the grime.

Combined with the feed issues the release lever has dropped / flopped to the 7 o'clock position and now needs pushing up before pushing down to release the bolt. sign01

Combined with the above the trigger is unbelievably heavy. It may be getting lighter but I am not convinced.

The ammunition I was using today was LIMIT 9mm Luger (9x19) 124grn copper jacketed.

I will read through the headers again and see if there is anything else to pick up on but to be honest I am pretty disgusted and feel unable to enter any of the gallery rifle comps coming up,

Bloody hell DM, that's outragous!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
