Does anyone use the Versapod bipod?
Anyone here using a Versapod bipod of so what do you think of them and what rifle is it fitted to?
I ask because I am after some information on the spigot that it uses.

I have a Chinese copy, does it not use the same design as the one on the front of the AI?
It had way too much movement for my liking so has been placed in the kit bin,

I've got one and two adaptors for my AR15 1/2.
My spigots have never come out if that's what you're after but I have never tried to take one out.
Have a look at their website, it might help.

Re: Does anyone use the Versapod bipod?
I owned one for a few years and used it on a Sauer SSG 205 (6.5x55).
A decent bipod with the same level of adjustment as a Harris 6-9, but as was said above i really did not like the movement of the bipod, and for the first few times i was using it the rifle would lean over so much you think it would fall over as there was no way to lock it in a position.
The sling adaptor came out with the push of a button, but if memeory serves the spigot (bar the legs attach on to) was not removable. In the end i sold it for a Harris swivel with locking cant.

Re: Does anyone use the Versapod bipod?
If you want to have a look at one of the rail to versapod hand guard adapters I have one laying around that was "adapted" by the previous owner. Or I can lend you a bipod with qd adapter. Going to got it to my steyr to replace a Harris, but not in a hurry.

As Andy said, spigot has never come out but have never tried to take it out. you can happily have mine should you want to play with one,

Re: Does anyone use the Versapod bipod?
I have two of them which I switch between three rifles as the firsrt one was purchased from Cabelas and a spare adapter came with it. The one bipod is of the original design without the locking facility and the second bipod is of the locking type. I know it is personal choice but I prefer them to the harris bipod that I had previously mainly because they can be carried seperately and only slipped onto the rifle when required. The spigots are secured into the handstop and I haven't had any problem with them pulling out. The handstop/ adapter fits easily and securely to the Q/R type sling studs.
The only problem that I have had is the pip pin sling swivel sticking due to rust when stalking for a wet week in Scotland. Personally I would prefer a second sling stud up front and attach the handstop to one and the sling to another.
Have you looked at the versa-pod website, there is quite an extensive range of bipods made by this company.

Re: Does anyone use the Versapod bipod?
It looks like the Versapod is a good copy of the earlier Parker Hale as fitted to amongst others the Accuracy International. I had a feeling AI went to the Harris for a short period but Versapod are implying they now supply to AI.
My mission is to make an Accuracy International to Versapod spigot with a friction device on the front end so that a degree of resistance can be applied to cant. I have a couple of AI's here so I have made that side of the spigot, I assume the diameter of the spigot is the same for the Vesapod so all I really need to know is what does the |Versapod spigot end look like and how long to make it as I need to thread the front end and put a thumb wheel and friction washer on.

I have one and used it on an AR but it would topple over if not balanced just right , the spigots can be bought on ebay I have one to set in the front of a stock if the project ever gets going to make the stock .
