Re: Bisley this weekend
It could so easily have been a really miserable day (and for many poeple it was) but thanks to a limitless supply of ENS enthusiasm we had a great morning, not to mention a good lesson in dealing with adversity (cold, wet, and being barely able to see the target). After lunch we had a good session in the loading room talking 'stuff' too.EagerNoSkill wrote:Me and ROZ were some of those souls ... hardy or stupid - still debating the right tag!

Re: Bisley this weekend
Well not wishing to rub anything in to entrailes, on Saturday I got a 44.2 at 1,000 which was hard as very difficult to see clearly later in the day, but knocked in a very surprising 50.9 at 900. My best ever score at that range so I frankly was so overocme with joy after 9 that i didn' really worry about the 1,000 !! Thanks must be given to my wind coach (AM) who I have yet to hear from because he endured Sunday too so may well have come down with hypothermia or even possibly drowned !!!
Entrailes had the worst possible start, but his sighting was perfect as demonstrated by his trip to the zero range, so there must be some doubt as to the enthusiasm of the markers in such conditions.

My post says it is m,y first - but I forgot my log in - ovenpaa remember we did the RCO the same weekend and debated profusley !! I am back thanks to Christel !

Hi Jim,
Good to see you managed to get on the forum
Erm... what were we debating? Or maybe a better question is what were you shooting, I seem to remember rifles better than people however I do remember it was a freezing cold wet day in a room without heating. I then went on to do my HME RCO and it was every bit as cold, must be an RCO course thing.
As far as markers go the only memorable problem was at 600 one day last year on Century when the poor little dot at the other end could not reach much further than about 2/3rds of the way up the frame

Ovenpaa - You did yours in a day and I did the 2 day one at Bisley, so we never quite met ! But did converse quite a lot about the pros and cons of a 1 day and a 2 day course.
Had a classic the other week at Bisley, supposed to be doing 5 and 6 on Century. 5 delayed because some targets had 6 faces on........ fell back to 6 after finally shooting 5 and lo and behold - no 6 faces so had to shoot 5 faces at 6 - and they call it the National Shooting Centre !!!
Nice to be back - out wiht the Enfield next weeken in Oxon, hope the weather clears up.
