AR platforms and target scopes
Anyone using an AR style rifle in .223/5.56 and using a scope?
What mounts work best and any zeroing issues from 100-500/600 or threabouts?
Using my Sig on a rifle course next month, will fit my Leupold LRT 8.5-25x50 currently mated with high QD mounts, last used on my AE and zeroed at 200 on 147grn radway .308..so fun times ahead in zeroing it. Iron sights removed.
Ammo will be 75grn match ammo.

I have a one piece A.R.M.S with a 1.5-bowl Leupold on mine

Far too much scope for a carbine IMO.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I have been shooting mine out to 1000 yards and could not see the marker with my bowl - I was tempted to stick my Nightforce on for the magnification.

Ditto for me

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Yeah - ARMS Inc - no problems with them...as a mount, not bad - LaRue came along afterwards and improved on the concept/design
PLUS
Dick Swann of ARMS Inc has donated a fair wad of US$$$ to the political funds of Barack OBAMA - he is an anti-gun gun parts maker!!

Re: AR platforms and target scopes
Sorry - my bad wording...to clarify.....are you using low mounts or higher mounts.
Sim, yes agree scope almost same size as the sig but it's what I have right now..and I DO need the money for other stuff...was going to get the Scout rifle I mentioned a while back but Instructor suggested I stick with Sig as it's "more my style"..also I need to buy other toys as they come up..Also maybe an AE coming up if I can figure out how ot get it INTO the US.
Really just trying to find out if anyone has had sighting in issues using a scoped AR platform, what height mounts they used (maybe personal choice) and also what sort of distances you have been shooting to..1;7 twist, 75 grain (BTHP??) match ammo. Will be using bipod too.
I think the current mounts are Warne QD, worked a treat on my AE at the time.
