Muzzle brakes
I wanted to post this in the N.R.A section but it's locked at the moment, so I will post it here hoping someone from the N.R.A will pick it up.
I have been studying the rule book but can't find the answer I'm looking for.
Question
Is the correct procedure when shooting next to some f****ng ars****e with a muzzle brake on to punch him/her straight between the eyes and tell them to f-off up the other end of the range?

Or, if you can't put up with it, you move.......?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Muzzle brakes
There should be one clear firing point between you and the shooter with a Muzzle Brake and you can discuss this with the Range Office if someone is shooting directly next to you with a MB.
Re: Muzzle brakes
Buy a MUCH bigger calibre rifle, fit muzzle break and shoot beside aforementioned offender next time..
or just ask them politely to move, or move to another point away from everyone else if you can.....or fit a moderator.

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
Re: Muzzle brakes
I still maintain the worst shooting experience I ever had was walking past someone with a .338LM and MB in a covered firing point, I had just walked behind him and was adjusting my cans when he fired the rifle. It certainly spoilt my day.
Re: Muzzle brakes
I shoot with a muzzle brake, but I would not shoot it with Target Rifle Shooters that shoot three prople to a lane at once. Used it yesterday in the RBL Match and no one complained, there were however a selection of shooters using brakes, suppressors and straight target crowns.

Re: Muzzle brakes
Yep no prbs with breaks yesterday I have target crown and no break and did not have issue with any one with a break.

sort it out prior to the detail so guys with breaks are in one area away from others talking is better than a punch up (god i'm old or gowing up)

Come and shoot with us when we have the 50s out - then you will know about muzzle breaks!
Re: Muzzle brakes
I have to be honest and say that I would not want to shoot my 338LM WITHOUT a brake but I appreciate that its best to only do so in similar company where its known that a big calibre + MB is going to be used.
As Ovenpaa says ... just leave a lane or so in between.
I also don't really get the logic of , for example, 308 Win users having a MB rather than a nice moderator fitted....... am I missing something?
For my 308 and 260 rem I use Mods as a recoil reducer ...... is there a valid reason for a MB on these?
