Common Bolt faces

A question if I may. Is there a reference table anywhere that matches different cases with common bolt faces?

I have some listed in varying forms for .223 and .308 but the list is endless and my specific interest was cartridges sharing the .223 and .308 case. Hopefully RGC will pick this up as he may well have a definitive list in written format.

No, Davy, I do not have a list, and I do not think one exist, except perhaps stock lists of shell holders manufacturers..LOL

Commonly, one can consider 4 dimensions are the most common: .223 case head dia.9,6mm , PPC-Russian, dia 11,18mmn Belted Magnums dia 13,51mm and Short Magnums, dia 13,59mm. For both magnums, I consider a single bolt head diameted, as the difference is so minimal that the larger one is to consider fer a common bolt head diameter...

There is so many different diameters, still common or obsolete..A good reference is the P.A.U.LA software available from Triebel.

I have a file of common CJP revised cartridge and chambers sheets that I can send on PM demand.

Your list reads like you skipped one. What about standard 0.473 face (circa 12mm) for 308Win, 6mmBR, 30/06 etc... ?

I did run a quick search of the P.A.U.L.A Database and a quick count shows in excess of 130 cartridges in the .308 bolt face region. Unfortunately they are in a format that does not allow me to copy and paste the list of chamberings.

Correct, Gaz, you know my excuse LOL... The 12mm/.473 is the most common of all of them. I could count a quantity in american(initial base 30-03 then 30-06) and european (initial base 7x57, 8x57 or 7,92 I. then IS)...
