Keep on opening the cans of worms, ooman, we appreciate 'em...
We have also fired a vz.58 a few years ago in Mesoptamia and considered it to be a very well made rifle, far more accurate than the AK47 which, our Czech colleagues were very quick to point out, it is NOT based on. They also had a silenced version too, capable of full auto fire, and we swapped a couple of those for a pallet of rat packs. Made an excellent weapon for the point man on night patrols, able to eliminate dogs and sentries without warning anyone to our presence.

I must say, they do seem like well made firearms, I handled a Vz58 some years back and was very taken with its excellent build quality, I would certainly be interested in one.
Makes you wonder what will turn up next in SP form?

Well spoke to Scott at Caledonian Classic Arms this afternoon. My Vz.58 should have arrived at Prestwick Airport today so once he has it and details are sorted out with my local RFD delivery is getting very close!

G3. That would be something.

Due to the nature of its design, roller-delayed blow back it is pretty much impossible to make a straight pull G3.

Also, the G3 with it's fluted chamber would make the SP L1's troublesome hard extractions seem like a walk in the park, you would need a mallet to extract the spent brass!
