Yebbut... Hmmm... ctually I could, machining front and rear cups to fit is not a problem however I really would like some original rubber cups. I just spoke to Swarovski UK and they had never heard of the 'scope, let alone held spares for it.

Christel has just boxed something up to ship out to you!

Froggy, the rifle is post 1995 so the 'scope is a Swarovski ZFM6x42Z and I must admit I am quite impressed with it.
Just seen it at IWA - bottom metal for the SSG that takes AI mags. 20 years ago when I was using those orrible, unobtainable 10-round plastic mags in Practical Rifle I would have killed for this!

Very nice bit of kit. I had one a few years ago, wish I still had it. Think I might still got some mags for it somewhere.......

The Club I belong to at least 50% of the members own a Steyr SSG P1.
I have two 5 round and two 10 round magazines for mine. All though one of the 5 round ones is looking a bit iffy I try not to use that one. The ten rounders are like rocking horse poo and mega expensive.

I have found a source for new 10 round magazines however I need both my kidneys so I will continue with my AICS conversion, meanwhile I quite like the standard 5 round Steyr offering. tongueout

I have just been going back through my load data for the past many years and I am going to shoot with the Lapua 170 Lockbase, Fed210M primers, Lapua .308 Brass and instead of the previously used N540 I will give TR140 a try. The OAL to the lands for the Lockbase at 2.890" however they have seemed happy with a reasonable jump in the past so I will probably start at 2.875" which gives a 15 thou jump. Something very similar worked well with my AI so it is a known starting point.

I only have 10 Mils of elevation to play with on the ZFM and that is assuming the 'scope is on or near mechanical zero so I will be basing things on an MV of 2800fps to get me to 1000 yards. I dropped the elevation drum off today and dimensioned it up. I will machine a blank to suit, wrap some tape around it and mark it off as I shoot at a couple of known distances. Once I have the data in place I can calculate the remaining graduations and engrave it to suit, a quick dip in the anodising bath and a wipe of white paint and it should be good to go.
