Browning T Bolt

Re: Browning T Bolt
My old man has one, bough it as soon as the were re-introduced, he loves it, it shoots very well, and is well balanced (the first of the new models were lightweight sporters with 18/20" barrels, I've tried to persuade him to chop it but he wont. The trigger is firm but you do get used to it. The magazines are novel and actually function very well, the magazine ejection is rather strong so when using it cradle the bottom less you drop it as they are fecking expensive magazines.
The action is lovely a smooth, so smooth that both he and I have shot PPU1 with it with reasonable scores.

Re: Browning T Bolt
Can anyone with the synthetic version of the T-bolt confirm if it actually comes with a spare magazine stored in the stock, or merely provision for a spare magazine?
Re: Browning T Bolt
I have the Varmint/Target model in wood with a 22" barrel and absolutely love this rifle. It's very accurate and I use it for both target and hunting. The straight pull action is a dream to use and the 10 round rotary mag is a great design. It 's also one of those rifles that improves with usage as the action just gets smoother and smoother.
Re: Browning T Bolt
OK - a couple of weeks now since my son purchased his T-bolt. In short, what a lovely little rifle - well made, accurate, robust, one of the nicest .22 sporters I've handled.
He opted for the 16.5" barrelled wood stocked sporter.

Fitted with Minox 3-15x50 Scope with BDC reticle on a temporary basis until something more fitting for a .22 can be sourced, freeing this optic for something centrefire.

5 rds. off the bench at 50m with a cross-wind from the right.

Oooooh...that's nice... I've been umming and aaaahing about what to fill my spare .22 slot with
Re: Browning T Bolt
Well as an Anschütz sporter owner myself, I know what I'd buy know and it wouldn't be the Anschütz.
This is a lovely little rifle, but robust and big enough not to feel like a toy. my son is shooting it at present on the Denwood outdoor range in Aberdeen and sent me the above target via Apple Messaging about 20 minutes ago - I'm awaiting 100m results soon.
If there has to be a negative about the T-bolt it's the trigger - it's not bad, but could be better. It adjusts down to about 3lbs, I'd like to see it a tad lighter/crisper.
Not the cheapest .22 on the market, but certainly one of the best.

Re: Browning T Bolt
I can only echo the above, having shot the rifle on the range from 25-100 yards and to the sum of about 300 rounds now I can find little at fault with it, the action is as smooth as can be and the double helix magazine feeds flawlessly, is robust and easy to load. As stated the trigger is a tad heavy but the break is crisp and there is next to no creep in it and is certainly workable.
I have shot groups at 50m with several types of ammunition thus far and found it worked well with RWS Special match(Group Above), RWS Target Rifle, and Eley Match. I have also used some Remington Subsonic which was ok, and Cyclone which opened up to about 2" at 50m (probably owing to being transonic).
I shot the rifle for the first time at 50m today and was not altogether pleased with the results, however I think that was more on my part than anything else! This was all off a Harris Bi-Pod so not necessarily the best potential of the rifle, will need to put it an a rest to really see that and eliminate any error on my part.
All this said I would definitely recommend the rifle for a fun plinking or sporting rifle.

Meant to say 100 Yards, shot well at 50 m.BlackburnBuccaneer wrote:
