The rifle is never going to be a T4 replica; it's a Mk.2 for a start...so it wouldn't be worth the cost of getting a real No.32 (unless my premium bonds come up that is), and a replica couldn't be used in competition...also I still haven't heard a really good report of one (thanks for your comment too Breacher)...

Just checked out the MTC range...

...I don't get the obsession with illuminated reticules...it seems quite hard to find a reasonably priced turreted scope with a nice simple fine cross-hair...

You won't go wrong with a second hand Pecar.

I'm assuming that with these older scopes that there isn't much windage and elevation adjustment (?)...how easy/hard would it be to get it mounted straight enough to have a good zero at 300 yards and still have some adjustment left around it?

I have a SMLE (1917) that I have a non gunsmith scope mount and scope on it.

It is set up like that for my son so He can shoot my SMLE or His inheritance as He calls it, my son is registered blind the advantage of this setup is I can take the mount off and use it and put it on when he uses it.

I take it in these circumstances you will approve of a scope on an old battle rifle?

There are a couple of suitable Leupolds on Gunstar, just grit your teeth and spend the money on a quality s/h it's worth it in the long term.
