Lincolnshire took two months to the day which included a good half dozen 'phone calls back and forth.

My club is on the border between Surrey and Hampshire, and the difference FAC turnarounds is stark.

As the OP has discovered, Surrey will do Variations within one to two weeks. Grants and renewals are done in about two months.

On the other hand, Hampshire have just taken 19 weeks to do a straight 1-for-1 Variation for one member of my club. And this is the force who‘s Chief Police Officer Andy Mercer represents ACPO Ltd on firearms matters.

Has anyone done a FOI request for FAC turnaround times?

GMP - submitted a one for one 08/09/15 and still waiting, two phone calls and they have no idea when it will be returned! last time I submitted a variation it was about three weeks turn-round.

Maybe January? :(
