Got it back this morning :)

Good news, they added the .308 & 6.5C rifles I asked for as well as the 6.5 Moderator. For some reason they only removed the .30 rifle & mod I'd sold and not the empty slot for a .22 LBP (which is still on), so in effect I got 3 free variations for 2 :)

Bad news (sort of), they didn't remove the .30 Mod I told them about after I sent in my FAC so that's still showing as possessed.

Just noticed, whilst they've added the Three Counties Club I put down on the 201v form they've also added Tyne Valley who I didn't put on it (and it wasn't on the last one) and aren't even a member of :(

mine just took 2 months, lots of back and forth but every time I have talked to someone they have been really nice.
went and got a couple of variations changed same day, actually about 30 mins.
So was a bit put out by length of time, but everyone is very helpful these days compared to the bad old days ....uurrgghhhhh

I presume that you have sent a letter of commendation to the Chief Constable?
They get plenty of criticism so also ought to receive thanks as well.

I thanked them for the quick turnaround when I sent it back for having 3 mistakes on it.

So quite why I'd thank them for making mistakes I'm not really sure.

I was happily surprised it came back correct this time given they had to ring me on Tuesday when they got it back again for me to explain what was wrong with it.

Oh, and "did I really have 2 .30 moderators and not 1?", err yes, there's 3 showing as possessed on the FAC you have in your hand, taking off the one I told you I just sold leaves 2.

Durham seems to be on top of things at the moment; I submitted my SGC renewal 5th December and it arrived on my door step yesterday, a day before the cheque cleared for it! My current one doesn't even expire until the back end of February! :good:

Thought I'd added this to my last post the other day but it's not showing.

Having been encouraged by Blackstuff's post I rang Durham yesterday to have a chat about the ongoing debacle of my Autistic sons SGC/FAC applications and subsequent withdrawals.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, I talked to the supervisor (Jackie) about the various issues we'd had with the FLD going back to his original application back in 2006, she seemed quite concerned especially after the last one where he was interviewed for 50mins by the then FLM who again decided that if we pushed he would refuse on the grounds of "adaptive reasoning" despite being completely unable to give any example of what he meant by it. The other thing that really stuck and we found very offensive was when I mentioned I was aware of at least three FAC holders in Durham who were also Autistic, his response was "Oh yes, I know who you mean but one of them has a job and another one is married" troutslapping

Jackie was quick to point out that the department had moved on since that point and suggested he re-apply and sent the application directly to her with as much supporting information as we could get. This will mainly be the full consultant psychiatrists report from September 2013, she asked if we could get a more up to date one but that's not possible as it took almost 3 years to get the first one! and (as with Aspergers Syndrome and ASD in general) there's been no real change nor will there be.

His GP rang this morning and is well aware of the situation, apparently the FLD had written to him back in 2014 (the last time we applied) and he'd forwarded them a copy of the psychiatrists report and said that as far as he was concerned there weren't any issues, he's agreed to do the same when we re-apply.

So, new application going in in the New Year along with another copy of the psychiatrists report and a couple of supporting letters from his current clubs.

First variation after renewal and things appear to have gone Pete Tong. Two weeks after putting it in I have heard 'nowt.

Polite email to ask if they have any delays, nice email back to say it's with' supervison' and they are going to contact me shortly.

This does not bode well. I have been off my meds for about three years now, and yet problem after problem.
