Out of all the banks I have tried, all were fails apart from Handelsbanken (of Swedish origin) - I rang up, spoke to the local representative and asked if it was possible to get a bank account if our business was shooting related.

Without hesitation the answer was Yes, of course. My heart skipped. Only downside was - there is always a downside, our turnover was not high enough back then.

We were members of the GTA back then, there was no help to be had, they are as powerless as the other shooting organisations we have, it is all very sad.

Like most corporations they can trample the little people, who are not part of the protected species, without fear of repercussions.

GTA recomend barclays great until you go to the branch and get the 'not really our thing speech'
S'funny, the GTA told me try Lloyds, however....it was a "I know a man who you can call and tell him these exact words", then you might get a bank account scenario.

Our club’s account is with the Lloyds. Couldn’t be more helpful.

And I’ve just checked. The Lloyds TSB Rifle Club still exists at Bisley.

Which banks do the NRA and NSC use?

I had a major ruck with Barclays when I took over as Secretary of my club... the big fly in the ointment was the word "rifle" in the club name.. my chairman is an ex Barclays manager and intervened, but the aggravation continued.. after I threatened to close the account the Bank quietened down,... at one stage, the Bank wanted details of all club rifles!
Things have gone quiet now, with no further grief.. if we changed the club name to "Sports Club" it might help!

The bottom line is banks are bastards, rather than being a tool to help us live our lives money is now and end in itself and once the world governments said that banks were too big to fail they became officially untouchable and unaccountable.

The fecking Medici's have a lot to answer for.

Me, I do cash and cheques and feck their more corrupt electronic banking. It can limit certain things but I have found is no bad thing as for me less of this shite world in my life adds more to my quality of living.

No .. it's my money! The fact that I 'lend' it to the bank so that they themselves can make some money from it is neither here nor there. If I wish to withdraw that money and do something else with it, then that will be my choice (and I won't be asking the bank's permission to do so)

Aye well try telling the banks that and you will get laughed at.

I only keep in the bank what is needed for the few historic bills I have to pay anyone who manages their money through a bank is a fool to give them so much power over you.

The banks are entitled to their opinion. It doesn't necessarily make them right.

I think you will find there is more to it than opinion.

So how do banks like Tandem etc get going ? would it be possible to create a gun friendly bank a bit like some of the community bank schemes ?

https://www.pannovate.com/products/laun ... QAQAvD_BwE

https://howtostartanllc.com/business-ideas/bank

or the community or club of gun owners

Mad idea maybe ...
