Already got the variation for the rifle, moderator and ammo, now i've just got to find £1950
To be honest it's a good thing i'll not be able to afford one straight away, i think i'll be waiting and seeing if any S5 or quailty control problems come up like with the SGC LRA9 - once bitten and all that tesnews

Mark, did Durham give you the slot with no action type specified?.

No, its down as 'lever action', the same as my LRA9. Once the rifle has been out for a while i might ring them to see if they're aware of the action type yet (in
theory all they have to do is select the drop down option on the NFLMS). I don't hold out much hope though as they couldn't select the 'lever release' option for some reason for my LRA9 - despite it definitely being an option on the NFLMS as i've seen other peoples certificates (from other police areas) with it on. :cool2:
At the end of the day, the RFD that handed the LRA9 over to me were happy to do so with 'lever action' on my certificate, and Durham have since issued several certificates with that action type on so i'm happy i'm doing what i'm supposed to. TBH i'm not sure what version of the NFLMS Durham have but it apparently doesn't even have the option of 'straight-pull' in action types, mine have always been listed as 'bolt-action'

I have a new style certificate and the authority to aquire just lists items as 'rifle' and not by action type, however, the already possessed section does list action type.

Mine came back as "Lever Release" ??
Weird (but it is Durham!), they couldn't find 300aac Blackout on the system so I had to argue with Larraine for about 15mins, ended up with her giving me "300" with no chambering specified (very unusual for Durham) so in theory I could have bought a 300wsm!, just a bit more powerful than the Blackout!.
I can ask Chief Inspector Ball about MARS on Thursday when we have Jareds interview if you want?

I have new style certificate too after my last renewal. My old certificate, nor my new one states action type. Although interestingly the variation form *does* specify action type...
I'm interested to see what these are like in practice.. Does anyone know if they are still 'trigger release' as originally rumoured?

Yes they are, but he calls them MARS instead.

Hmmm if that's the case, I won't be getting one. I think it will cause me too many muscle memory issues for when I shoot semi autos...Bad for competition, not the greatest thing for safety either.

Could you do me a favour please and measure your VZ58 to see what minimum barrel length would be required in order to comply with the 24"/60cm overall length rule please? i.e. measure from the back of the receiver, not including the stock. I'd ideally like one of these with as short a barrel as possible, but i also don't want to restrict myself in terms of stock design.
Many thanks

The trigger fire/trigger release operation is certainly going to provoke some discussions if it is fitted and I do wonder who will be the first to manage to get the things to go auto regardless of it being 'impossible' Apparently there are still some lever release SGC 9mm's that misbehave on occasion.
