Looks like Caledonian Classic Arms Ltd have done it! I'm going to put in a variation to fill my .223 slot for one of these little fellas! bangbang

Anyone know what the actual release system is?, it was supposed to be a "trigger release" but haven't heard anything since they were mentioned around 8 months ago.

Yes it's a trigger release system, but they don't call it that, it's called MARS (Manually Actuated Release System).

Looks interesting

What does 'or does not state any specific action type' mean? My vacant slots just say .223/5/56 rifle.

These sound great, looking forward to seeing some reviews or videos on the rifles especially how the MARS system works

Looking at my FAC, I have an "ACTION" column under the "Firearms Possessed" section, it states the action type, so "STRAIGHT PULL," "BOLT ACTION" etc... however on my FAC at least, I don't have an "ACTION" column under the "Firearms authorised to be purchased or acquired" section. So I guess I could buy one to fill my .223 slot without submitting a 1-4-1 variation. I have one of the new licences though and I don't remember if it specified the action type before...

Either way I guess yours is OK as well. Best get your cash out!

Yeah I got the email as well, I just caught my FAC before it was sent for renewal. I decided to go for the 7.62x39 as I expect to get through a fair bit of ammo.

If I was looking to possibly buy one of these I would wait until the 6.5 Grendel came out. It's a superb cartridge that far out does the 7.62x39 in every aspect. I have an AR15 in the Grendel and I would never consider selling it, it's that good.
