Agreed. Sorry if my post wasn't clear - I was only saying multiple cards where ONE club couldn't certify all disciplines.rox wrote: You just need to be certified for the type of firearm you are using.

Re: NRA re-issue of SCC cards
Can some one answer my question, my NRA individual member SSC certifies me for all the types of firearms I need, is it valid with other clubs on MoD ranges other than Bisley?

Re: NRA re-issue of SCC cards
Your SCC is valid as long as you belong to the body or club that issued it. And it is Valid when shooting at another club as a guest, member or competitor.
So if one of our members leaves our club & joins another card has to be returned to club other club needs to issue SSC if shooter uses MOD ranges.
If you stop being individual NRA member and have a NRA issued card it becomes invalid and you need to send it back to NRA. Your club then issues SCC if you use MOD ranges. The 2 card thig exampled earlier looks to be because 1 club is not allowed to sign off on HME and other is not allowed to sign off on BP.
If you are found unsafe while at another club or NRA comp at Bisley. Your training record from your club can be audited and chairman and club can be in cack for signing off unsafe untrained person.

Re: NRA re-issue of SCC cards
Thank you for that clarity.
Concerning the training record, what about all those shooters who never did a course as they were grandfathered onto the system when it was brought in?

This makes it easier from an admin point as far as I'm aware.

The admin bit I seem to remember being told or given the notion of but cannot attribute to a particular source, and it was the only reason I can think of for the extra cards. The admin saving would be after the issuance and about being able to check on a club's booking as individuals cannot generally book MoD ranges (Bisley excepted).
The one card per club thing is from a conversation I had with the NRA SCC card issuing department.

I am now 99.999% sure this is incorrect, having just discussed it with the NRA membership dept. They state that you do not need a card for each club you shoot with. As long as you posses a valid card for the class of firearm you are using you satisfy the SCC requirements to shoot on a MOD range, like I said before. They state that they would not have told anyone that they had to have a card from each club, or that the card must be issued by the club they are shooting with to be valid. The only possible contention would be if a specific club were to say that they only recognise their own cards.

Re: NRA re-issue of SCC cards
Only repeating what they told me a month or so ago when I had to go through the whole process ( I should have 4 cards on the way).
I guess they're making it up as they go along. Going through the process without fully thinking it out and changing it as situations arise.

Re: NRA re-issue of SCC cards
This type of "licence" will always be contentious..................you shoot a "possible" Friday, your card runs out Saturday, so you're considered unsafe to shoot Sunday..............
I may be wrong, but I think this was imposed upon the NRA, rather than cooked up by them.
