%20 represents a space in URL encoding, had they used underscores in the name instead, I'm sure your browser wouldn't have a problem with it. You could try another browser.

Vz58%20MARS%20Prototype.mp4 = `Vz58 MARS Prototype.mp4`

would have been more appropriately named as...

Vz58_MARS_Prototype.mp4

Didn't work with the 3 different browsers on this tablet. Went and fired up the ancient desktop the link works a treat. Better start saving now I've seen that!

ok-my 2 cents...what I see here on this short film(I am speculating now)is blow back action(?)with manual bolt release...if you asking me(I know,I know-just shut up and watch this space in silent...) thumb operate bolt release will give FASTER action...but maybe this was the case... :squirrel: I am bit puzzled with this final product...nobody knew what to expect but this is hard to categorise...for me looks like crossed SA VZ58 with VZ61 Scorpion...and maybe what it is-to standardise and keep the costs down...bit like lego or meccano.Recently CSA dropped .22 semiauto rifle in favour of other short barrelled firearms.Concerns about weird operation-you will get use to this,no worries, reminds me old trucks and double clutch/crash gearboxes-you master this and the rest is doodle.Someone asked why this platform?-simple,CSA knows what are they doing, having at least 2 very dedicated individuals-Czechpoint.usa and CCA/Scott-and what is interesting both sides need each other to move things forward.Do not forget this are the first steps only-I will be watching this space :good:

My issue with it is that if you get really used to squeezing the trigger twice to chamber a round, and then fire once that muscle memory is ingrained, how will this impact your use of a semi-auto? (.22, shotgun or for those of us that shoot overseas?) With the LRA9 (which is still on my wish list!) its a separate deliberate motion to release the bolt/cock the hammer so will not impact you when using a normal semi-auto. It might be a non-issue, but it's my concern. I'm really happy that there is more choice in the market for us UK-limited shooters though!

It does make a mockery of the semi auto ban though, much like LBR's, LBP's and modern muzzle loaders make a mockery of the handgun ban in some respects!
My LRA9 will likely be up for sale soon so watch this space!

My training regime with the MARS rifle would be to simply 'double tap' the trigger for each shot, both trigger pulls would be while the gun was pointed at the target. However, the gun would always be pointing down range while in use so even if i did have a brain fart it would never be discharged while pointing in an unsafe direction

AFAIK you can't use blowback in rifle calibers, I believe this rifle has a gas system.

You can, but it's delayed blowback.

As Halodin said the vz.58 has a gas system.

I would imagine adapting a VZ58 to use anything other than a short stroke piston system would be more trouble that it's worth.

I'm very interested to see how this might eventually be used in other firearms, mainly whether cca would every make some sort of kit to allow us to convert existing straight pull rifles (or if you could convert what would be sec 5 firearms abroad and then import them as now section 1 )

You're not allowed to convert complete section 5 rifles to section 1.
