Says it all, really...................light rain to start with, and freezing cold, but good shooting.

Cheapo fleabay folding gazebo's highly recommended.

Yes it was a bit chilly but was good to get out for the first shoot of the year. Shooting on F class target at 600yds with my target rifle was challenging but fun. Transferred my plots from F class score sheet onto a TR score sheet and was pleased to see that my 42.2 on an F class target was a 50.9 on a TR target. Looks like the new barrel is shooting OK.

Thanks to Pete, Maggie, Phil, John and Nigel for a nice relaxed but chilly icecube45 morning.

Yup, that's the way to do it. :good:

My original one is starting to get tatty after five years of use, so I've splashed out on a second to use in the summer by the caravan and keep the tatty one for the range.

Don't joke about hot water bottles. Went shooting on Stickledown at the end of Nov last year. It was -2.5 degrees C on Century when we were shooting. Having a hot water bottle to rest my right hand on when on the firing point was the only thing that meant that I could feel the trigger. The ladies at the clay club very kindly refilled it with hot water from the urn when we went for a mid-morning bacon sandwich and cup of hot chocolate!

I remember being out in similar last Winter and without a hot water bottle, even with gloves and pockets in-between details I had got to the point where I could not easily feel the break for the second stage.

Ha! I saw the gazebo all alone out there on century yesterday as I was driving in. We were shooting on Melville but pretty chilly there too.

Ha! used to shoot the NSRA frost bite leagues - running the car heater behind the FP, in a sleeping bag, gloves on, duvet over the top trying to do a 60 shot shoot before my nads welded to the concrete FP sign01

Why? did i do that shoot? scores were always naff :bad:

Was thinking of building a sooper dooper shooting mat - waterproof base, themal blanket, insulating closed cell dense foam 10mm thick, electric blanket, 2mm thin waterproof foam layer on top & a normal canvas & rubber elbows top all heat sealed up with 15 m wire & a 2.5KW genny in the back of the van at 600yds :shakeshout:

Would that breach range regs? ;)
