New Lantac has arrived

So, after months of waiting my Lantac TCR 223 had been proofed and was ready for collection. Drove up to Harrogate on Saturday afternoon and was even more impressed with it than I thought I'd be. The billet receiver is fantastic, everything fits together perfectly with no discernable gaps and it looks the business.

Sunday morning and early afternoon was spent entirely on the 50m range breaking in the barrel; shoot one, clean it, etc... Very pleased to report that there are no feed or extraction issues with any of the ammo I used which included steel jacket Barnaul (bought from Dave at Shooting Shed ), rubbish S&B, American Eagle and Gecko; I do have some Federal Match but at about £1.50 per round I'm saving this for something very special. Side cocking handle is smooth as silk and the 18" bull barrel is great.

After approx 80 rounds of fun, sorry I mean laborious breaking in, the grouping was certainly getting tighter and my ears were starting to bleed; that muzzle brake is a beast and on a firing point with walls either side the shock wave was something to behold.

Anyway, here are some truly awful pictures taken on my phone as my camera has decided to throw a wobbly.

You need to update your signature line.

I don't think the description of the barrel is entirely correct as a Bull Barrel is usual quite thick (1" Dia) and I'd guess yours is .75".

Oooh, that is very nice indeed and good to see it is home at last, have you started reloading for it yet?

Haven't started reloading yet, although I have practiced with those cases you gave me. Need to get a few more supplies and then off we go.

Yes it looked nice when I saw you Sunday at WNSC. Once you have it fully sorted you need to put it to serious use in competitions. It's too good just to plink with.

Ahh, I'm guessing that's Dave. Yep this is definately not a plinker. The plan is to get my SSC and plenty of practice with the new rifle at various ranges (just about to join Offas Dyke to gain access to some MOD ranges) over the summer and then head down to the CSR comps when the season starts up later this year.

Mate glad its finally arrived, and that rifle looks the business, once the waitings over it never seemed that long.

Hope it gives yourself, years of enjoyment
