So, after months of waiting my Lantac TCR 223 had been proofed and was ready for collection. Drove up to Harrogate on Saturday afternoon and was even more impressed with it than I thought I'd be. The billet receiver is fantastic, everything fits together perfectly with no discernable gaps and it looks the business.
Sunday morning and early afternoon was spent entirely on the 50m range breaking in the barrel; shoot one, clean it, etc... Very pleased to report that there are no feed or extraction issues with any of the ammo I used which included steel jacket Barnaul (bought from Dave at Shooting Shed
), rubbish S&B, American Eagle and Gecko; I do have some Federal Match but at about £1.50 per round I'm saving this for something very special. Side cocking handle is smooth as silk and the 18" bull barrel is great.
After approx 80 rounds of fun, sorry I mean laborious breaking in, the grouping was certainly getting tighter and my ears were starting to bleed; that muzzle brake is a beast and on a firing point with walls either side the shock wave was something to behold.
Anyway, here are some truly awful pictures taken on my phone as my camera has decided to throw a wobbly.
