Southern Gun Company 5.56mm Lever release.
Hi all,
Just wondered if any of you chaps had heard anything else about these intriguing rifles, it all seems to have gone very quiet on that front and they do look very interesting.
They very well might be Sec1 compliant, but I can see the Home office getting a bit grumpy about them!

Change the title to 9mm Lever Release and that post would be the complete copy of the one(s) around a couple of years ago.
What will be will be.
It'll get called the Unicorn Mk2 or some other mythical beast on the fora and eventually arrive on the shelves with much talk of it being banned from those that have no say in the matter.
Until then expect much speculative wasting of bandwidth and consequential free advertising for SGC.

Arming the Country, one gun at a time.
Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Unfortunately, the innovation, development and potential of such a Sect 1 firearm in the UK, is tempered with the appalling customer service and general surliness of Fat Bob. I imagine that I will one day own another straight pull AR, but it most certainly won't have SGC on the lower receiver. And as for the "self eject", lever release 9mm and .223, they hold no interest.
I don't trust SGC to make a decent quality, serviceable rifle, nor do I trust the Home Office not to take umbrage at these and plop them into Sect 5....

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Save your money for a Caledonian Arms one instead, half the price and twice the fun.

Those bolt-on, sound activated charging handle pullers are interesting...

Highly recommended - when it goes bang I operate the charging handle. 100% reliable so far.SevenSixTwo wrote:Those bolt-on, sound activated charging handle pullers are interesting...

VZ58 (very reliable and well built!) with a "trigger release" (press once to fire, bolt holds open, press again to close bolt and once again to fire) should be available in .222, .223 & 7.62x39 with other calibres to follow including (hopefully) 300aac

So you just pull the trigger twice for a full cycle?? i.e. it blows back and ejects the case without you having to manually cycle the action? tongueoutphaedra1106 wrote:VZ58 (very reliable and well built!) with a "trigger release" (press once to fire, bolt holds open, press again to close bolt and once again to fire) should be available in .222, .223 & 7.62x39 with other calibres to follow including (hopefully) 300aac![]()
