Soon to get a new Marlin 1894C .38/.357 whey hey!
Can't wait to thump a few rounds through it. Hope the barrel can take the strain.
I might only be shooting at paper but I like to hit it hard.

Best of luck, if it's a brand new one I hope you get a good one
Remington took over and moved production a few years ago and I'm afraid the quality went rapidly downhill. If it's a used one make sure it has the "JM" stamp on the barrel, this should pretty much guarantee the quality as it's pre-Remington.
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)

The bolt would be the first point of failure. You'd notice this when your teeth took on a whole new look

Aye - hitting hard is always preferable to hitting accurately when paper punching. Range muzzle energy limits are for amateurs!!

I applaud your enthusiasm, even though your grip on reality may be somewhat tenuous......
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

A Remlin eh..........................oh dear.
My old Marlin was made in 1978 and is a lovely bit of kit.
New ones.................I wouldn't give most of them house room I'm afraid.

Having not seen an unbiased sample of Remlins I am not in a position of sufficient knowledge to comment on the quality of their output. From their comments it is clear that other posters in this thread are in such a position, and consider it appropriate to discourage Oddball before he has set eyes on his new, expensive toy. I know that if I had put down a hefty chunk of my hard-earned I would hope that those around me would have the courtesy and good taste to speak a little more considerately.
