Cz serial numbers & production dates

#1 Post by bhodge »

Hi guys, I've had my ticket for a whole week now, and have today bought my first rifle - CZ527 Ebony edition in .223. I love it! Not fired it yet, but love it all the same.
I'm wondering whether the serial number will give me an indication of its manufacture date - the last two digits maybe?
Does anyone know??

On my 452 I'm fairly sure the year is marked. I'll get it out tommorrow and check.

Congratulations on buying such a fine rifle! I have the varmint version in the same calibre with a kevlar stock. They really are great value for money!

With the bore pointing "down range" have a look at the right side of the receiver near the front where the barrel is attached to the roceiver. You will see a stamp and two numbers. These numbers should be the year of manufacture.

See below, looks like my rifle was made in 2005! I bought mine used around 2011 so was around 6 years old when I bought it. Also, the barrel has the same stamping which shows its all original. Have a look at yours and let us know what you find :good:
