Unearthed some rarities..??

I've just been having a tidy-up, and found an old box of assorted brass that I picked up as a kid...

Looking through it, (for the first time in many years), I realise that among the .303's (including fired blanks and drill rounds) and .22 rf cases there are possibly some rarities in there.

The one on the right I recognise from a year or 2 back on here, someone had one and wondered what it was.. I knew I had one somewhere too, but just found it
But I don't remember what the final decision was.

The 2nd right looks like a rimfire, but much bigger...??

The 4x smaller ones are Kynoch .38 S&W blanks.... Probably picked up from an RAF range back in the 70's when I was an Air Cadet...

Any ideas on the first 2 and any value to the .38's..?

Is the long rimfire a brass 9mm No 3 garden gun?

The rimfire is a 9mm garden gun cartridge still made by Fiocchi the other one with 4 holes in the base looks like the experimental gyrojet cartridge but there is no primer in the centre.

I would agree with the 9mm garden gun and Gyrojet however I have not come across rimmed before and that is the one worth money, exactly how much is a different matter :)

Not convinced it's a gyrojet round, but I would be interested to find out what it is.

Were .38 blanks used as primers in some artillery/tank rounds?

Thanks guys, At least i know what the rimfire round is now.

I've googled images of gyrojet ammo, and while it has the 4 holes at the bottom, I don't think it is, unless its some sort of training round.

The top section comes off, seems to be some cast metal, (aluminium, or monkey metal), and there is a cavity in the body of the cartridge.

The cavity is closed at the bottom.

After I Googled Gyrojet ammo, i tried various searches for ammo, and ended up at "toy ammo"...and this came up:

Great find, I always think the research side of things is as much fun as owning them. I have recently been given a live incendiary .303 with the blue tip still visible. It was interesting to research it based on the head stamp and appearance.

Years ago there was a little cap propelled spud gun. Small alloy cartridgge with a triangular shaped cookie cutter like...err...case neck I guess.

rear was a concave area like a bin lid with a hole in the middle.

You pushed it into the spud, loaded the cartridge into the little black, die cast, single shot gun, placed a cap in the bin lid and it was meant to shoot the spud.

I dont ever remember it working, but the hole was probably too small/blocked and the cap too pathetic....had it used that later yellow strip caps it may have worked....
