Reloaded Ammunition
Can any one substantiate the rumor that reloads are to be required to be entered on to the ammunition section of a FAC certificate !!!

Re: Reloaded Ammunition
There is nothing that says you cannot write on your own ticket, however there is nothing that says you have to write reloads on there either.
The only purpose it would serve is to act as some sort of evidence of use, however a better way would be to keep a separate log or reloading activities and then you can record other relevant details like charge, bullet weight, performance, etc.

Not heard anything recently however this is a rumour that seems to come up every couple of years. I always tell people to keep a personal log of what they shoot so they have an idea of what has gone through the firearm plus it is handy when it comes to renewal time.

I agree keep a log of all ammunition that you reload, that info along with your range records show you are using your equipment, it also helps if you want to increase the amounts you are allowed to hold

Re: Reloaded Ammunition
at what point would you enter them? as soon as they are produced? do you just enter them one by one? by the hundred? or as soon as they are leaving the house.

Re: Reloaded Ammunition
Some years ago an enthusiastic Thames Valley FLO said I should record all my reloaded rounds on my FAC, so I did. When it came up for renewal I was asked (by another FLO) why I had done that. Never done it since.
I keep a record of every round loaded and a shooting log with details of ammunition used and results.
I offered it as evidence of usage at my last renewal but they didn't want to see it.

Re: Reloaded Ammunition
I had that discussion with my FEO recently. It's reasonable for him to want to know how much I shoot so we agreed that for my reloading, I simply keep a record of the bullets that I buy and with the range records on the NRA system and my club system, that should suffice.

Re: Reloaded Ammunition
All my spent primers go into a 1 gallon container, I just show them that if they ever ask how much I shoot. Usually fill it over the course of 18 months to 2 years.

Re: Reloaded Ammunition
What would be the point? You could write any amount on. 20 per week, 100 per week, 1000 per month. 500 every six months.
If they're going to accept what you've written down they might as well accept what you say.
